About SANe

At Kalapa Assembly in June of 2000, a number of artists, entertainers and people involved in various facets of the arts were asked to sit down together to try to come up with a collective vision. This seemed impossible at the beginning; we all had such different ideas and goals, or so it appeared. But over the period of a few days we realized that that we did share a common vision: to find a way to cultivate a life of practice, creativity and livelihood and most of all to keep in touch with and help one another. It really seemed like something that had been missing in our community. Several projects were discussed then and many are still being explored. This web site is the first step for the Shambhala Artists Network in trying to develop a real sense of artistic culture and community within Shambhala Buddhist Society. I believe this could be the start of something wonderful.

We are SANe and we invite you to join!
