In today’s hectic world we all need some space to air out our stresses and strains. One of the best ways to do this, I have found, is to practice meditation. There are many schools and techniques of meditation that I very happily recommend. However, the exercises that I want to write about here come from my own studies and practices over many years and I would like to make them as non-sectarian and available to the ordinary working person as possible. As a result, I have left out any references to historical religious persons or institutions. In this way I hope the meditations will be pleasing and helpful to everyone even those, perhaps particularly those, who have no religious leanings whatsoever.

For the first exercise, simply sit quietly and comfortably. Let your attention flow out with each breath for a few minutes. Just let your mind dissolve out into the open space around you. Then click on the link below and quietly read the text without too much judgement. Just rest in the open space that the text should invoke. Interdependence

I would love to hear about your experiences with these exercises, so please drop me a line at Mike Butler.
