Vive le mystique!
Welcome to an illustrative narrative on the meaning of life/art. Does art really imitate life and vice versa? With it's back to the wall, can art reach new heights of inspiration or are artists
today just a bunch of gold brickers? These questions, and others, will be examined in these pages.
Notice the rude monkey in the image; is this some commentary on her position in life? Would she rather be sitting at some small quiet bistro rather than being the object of our speculation? Too bad. She's stuck here, imprisoned by fierce pixels and computer code; quantified and objectified in a virtual environment. She's a display piece, a frozen moment in time, stretched out over the life of this image.
Virtual monkeys and virtual art spaces -- is this a portent of the future? Are we ourselves more than clever monkeys, playing with bits, rather than bananas?
